Pete Murray sells his Byron Bay home
Pete Murray, the singer-songwriter, has sold his Byron Bay home, the Blue Sky Beach House, with plans to head back to the hinterland.
His Suffolk Park abode fetched $2.205 million, having been bought in 2007 at $1.5 million. It had a $2.35 million asking price through ReMax agent Lainie Towner.
Set on 734 sqm, the beach house has four bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large balcony with outdoor entertaining area.
Murray, who is fresh off acoustic performances in the Maldives, previously lived at Eureka, where he and former wife, Amanda Coutts bought Carawatha, the district's original farm house surrounded by 100 year old Norfolk pine trees for $1.1 million in 2006 from the interior designer Kate Platt.
His third album, Summer at Eureka, was released in 2008, becoming his third consecutive #1 album on the ARIA charts. The study in the 1907 property featured on the cover of the album.
Murray opened his own restaurant in Byron Bay in 2013 called Frankie Brown Cafe, named after his pet Kelpie.
