The residential property developer and home builder Sekisui House Australia has secured Aqualand's masterplan development in Norwest, north west of Sydney.

The newly acquired master planned estate is part of Sekisui House’s multi-million dollar strategy to grow its footprint in the Sydney metropolitan region over the next five years.

It follows Sekisui House’s recent agreement with Stockland to design and construct over 330 homes across two of the business’s estates, Elara and The Gables, also located in North West Sydney.

The Norwest development envisages to create a new type of lifestyle community for homebuyers, with high-quality, high-end liveable homes underpinned by industry-leading sustainability.

Sean Osawa, Sekisui House's Chief Executive of Residential Communities & Home Building, said the community gives the developer the opportunity to bring more of their SHAWOOD home building product to more Aussies.

“We are excited to be expanding to another site in Sydney’s North West, building on our active acquisition strategy in greater Sydney and allowing us to deliver our well-appointed and sustainable SHAWOOD homes to more Australian homebuyers," Osawa said.

“The vision for the Norwest masterplan is to incorporate Sekisui House’s unique approach to placemaking and community building, combining the very best in design, quality, innovation, and sustainability to deliver a vibrant new estate.”

Set for development over the next five years, the new $375 million master planned development will retain the heritage elements of the site and include a diversity of housing form and lifestyle amenities that promote a strong community and connectivity with the wider area.

Craig D’Costa, Executive General Manager, Sekisui House Australia. said the acquisition of the site, as well as the recently announced agreement with Stockland, firmly cements Sekisui House’s offering of premium housing options into Sydney’s north-west.

"We have a growing portfolio of premium residential estates in the North and South West and plans for new communities in various other metro and coastal Sydney locations,” said Craig D’Costa, Executive General Manager, Sekisui House Australia.

“We understand homebuyers are looking for premium lifestyle properties that offer a sanctuary, surrounded by greenery, yet close to an activated destination for recreation, work, dining and entertainment. Norwest will encompass this, offering exceptional lifestyle amenities, alongside our luxury, well-appointed SHAWOOD homes."

Located just 31-kilometres from the Sydney CBD, the area presents a growing lifestyle hub with prime housing market potential. The masterplan is positioned within a 10-minute walk from Norwest Business Park and Norwest Metro Station and offers district views through to the Blue Mountains.

Sekisui House also recently launched the next phase in their $1 billion masterplanned community, The Orchards, in Norwest in Sydney's north-west, with the Lumia Lux already selling over $35 million worth of apartments.
