Rare luxury water-view living opportunity in Batemans Bay as final apartments at Kailani hit the market

A rare opportunity in one of Sydneysiders' and Canberrans' favourite locations on the South Coast of New South Wales has presented itself with the recent launch of Kailani, a boutique collection of luxury apartments in Batemans Bay.

Batemans Bay, around two hours from Canberra and three to four hours south of Sydney past Jervis Bay and Mollymook, is well known for its relaxed beach lifestyle, as well as its proximity to some of the state's best national parks and pristine waterways.

There are only five apartments left in the luxury development of 16 units which is being developed and built by the Bowral-based KELA Building Group. KELA is forecasting an early 2025 completion of the five-level development block on Beach Road, arguably one of the best sites in Batemans Bay with unobstructed views over the adjacent park, marina and the Bay. The site is just around the corner from the 27-hole Championship Catalina Golf Course, and just a short level walk to the town centre.

Designed by architect Nathan Judd of Judd Studio, Kailani was conceptualised with a focus on longevity and timeless design, ensuring that the building remains relevant and of high quality for decades to come.

"The brief [to Nathan Judd] was to make a building that was quality, that was going to be as relevant today as it is in 20 to 30 years – something that was timeless," KELA Building Group Director and Construction & Project Manager, Simon Kearney, said.

The four three-bedroom apartments on offer have large internal areas ranging from 132 sqm to 147 sqm, as well as balconies looking out across the water.

The final spacious penthouse, which is seeking $2.75 million, has nearly 180 sqm of internal living space and has four bedrooms and bathrooms, two living areas, as well as the largest terrace in the building.

Taking inspiration from the natural beauty of the South Coast region, Archebiosis Interior Architects has curated three calming natural colour palettes for prospective buyers to choose from.

The palettes highlight organic, natural textures and earth tones to withstand changing trends and provide a warm, peaceful home— continuing the concept of timelessness and longevity in the interiors.

All apartments at Kailani feature a prime northerly aspect with spacious living areas that extend to large balconies offering direct views of Batemans Bay, the foreshore, and the marina.

The kitchens are equipped with quality appliances, and each apartment has a large master suite boasting an ensuite with a double vanity and several with a freestanding bath. All apartments have ducted air conditioning, plus two dedicated undercover secure parking spaces and lock-up storage.

Only five apartments remain at Kailani, which is well advanced in its construction.
