Private equity veteran Peter Wiggs buys next door neighbour in Mosman
Electra Wiggs, the wife of the private equity veteran Peter Wiggs, has spent $7.75 million on a waterfront reserve home in Cilfton Gardens in Mosman.
And in doing so have expanded their footprint on the exclusive Iluka Road. The couple have owned the home next door since paying $3.9 million in 2005.
The mid 1910s manor, on the foreshore of Taylors Bay, was being sold for the first time since 1937 and was marketed as being ready for a restoration or reinvention.
Retaining its original grandeur, the Federation home sits in tiered gardens and is fronted by a Tallowwood veranda with views of Taylors Bay and the Eastern Suburbs.
There are a number of formal rooms, all with patterned ceiling details, as well as five bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Peter Wiggs, who founded Archer Capital in 1997 and is the chairman of Supercars, and Electra emerged as the $21 million buyers of an apartment t in The Bradfield at McMahons Point, which was completed earlier this year. The 2016 off the plan sale is the highest in the north shore, doubling the previous $10.5 million high.
Wiggs spent a turbulent 37 days on the board of Rugby Australia earlier this year before quitting despite seemingly being primed for the chairmanship.
