Not all black and gloomy in Vaucluse prestige residential market

The Vaucluse residence owned by the Asia Pacific head of trading with the Dutch derivatives company Optiver, Baydon Fischer, and his wife, Megan, has been snappily sold.

It was designed by architect Michael Suttor on its 1056-square-metre Black Street block with a heated pool and somewhat customised cabana amid gardens designed by Paul Bangay.

Apparently the Fischers spared no expense building the five-bedroom, five-bathroom, three-level residence after paying $4.7 million in 2008 from Bryan Rose, the joint managing director of development company Rose Group.

The master suite has an ocean view terrace.

McGrath agent Ben Collier and Laing+Simmons Double Bay agent Bart Doff had been adamant that it would fetch more than $9 million, so presumably they went close for the Vaucluse property to be secured before the official expressions of interest were due.
