Jenny Rose-Innes, who describes herself as "a serial renovator and garden maker" has sold her charming Bowral cottage, finding a $4.25 million buyer in just two weeks.

She's been building houses and gardens for over 40 years.

Her latest creation had a home on its 1560sqm marketed as Connecticut style by Di Jones agent Michael Cawthorn.

Rose-Innes hails from South Africa, coming to Australia with her husband and family a little more than a decade ago.

Rose-Innes, who wrote Australian Designers at Home, and the more recent bestseller, British Designers at Home, had paid $1,275,000 in 2015, having found the neglected cottage on an evening walk with dogs, Miss Penny the schitzu and Fergus the schnauzer.

“Bringing this cottage back to life, very simply, was joyful,” Rose-Innes blogged.
