Queensland’s largest residential builder, Hutchinson Builders, is moving ahead with construction on DeMartini Fletcher and Holm Developments’ $79 million Pama Casuarina project.

With Casuarina’s vacancy rate sitting at 1.8 per cent and the supply of stock on the market down 30 per cent since 2021, Pama is set to deliver a welcome supply of new apartments to meet the continued demand for quality residences in the area.

Located just metres from the world-famous white sandy beaches and beloved local cafés of Casuarina, the Plus Architecture-designed project will deliver 47 apartments over four levels and comprise a collection of two, three, and four-bedroom apartments within one of the most sought-after coastal villages on the Tweed Coast.

Paul Hart, Chief Operating Officer and Director of Hutchies said the company was delighted to be working with DeMartini Fletcher and Holm Developments to bring Pama Casuarina to life.

“We are always quite discerning with the projects we take on, and Pama is precisely the standard of quality architecture that we are proud to bring to Casuarina,” said Hart.

“Being a local and having lived in Casuarina for 20 years, this is a project that I am passionate about and I believe that once complete, it will be a great addition to the area.

“Hutchies are well-resourced and have over 110 years’ experience navigating the industry’s challenges, which has allowed us to continuously deliver high-quality projects across southeast Queensland and expand into northern NSW”.

The start of construction comes hot off the back of a $55 million sales spree, which CBRE Residential Projects Senior Director Nicholas Clydsdale says has been accelerated by Pama being the first apartment complex to be zoned for permanent residents.

“We are continuing to see a high level of interest at Pama as more people recognise the unique opportunity to live in a premium apartment just a stone’s throw from one of northern NSW’s most famed beaches,” said Clydsdale.

“Pama certainly fills a gap in the Casuarina market for owner-occupier apartments as up until now, the only way to live in the area year round has been through a freehold property – most high density offerings fall under a serviced apartment scenario.

“With the median price for an average house in Casuarina now well over the $2m mark, residential options had been limited up until Pama entered the market, which is certainly resonating with significant pent up demand.”

Two, three, and four-bedroom residences are still available for sale, priced from $1.06m.

Pama will be enhanced by tropical landscaped grounds and feature a range of exclusive resident amenities, including a resort-style pool with a wet deck and relaxing cabana area, barbeques with a kitchen and bar area and outdoor showers.

Pama will also feature a board storage facility with stand-up paddle boards and surfboards available for residents and guests and 30 custom vintage Pama bicycles in a shared bicycle scheme for residents to take advantage of the many bike pathways provided by Tweed Shire Council.

Director of Holm Developments, Godfrey Esmonde, says Pama and its inclusions will allow residents to take full advantage of its prime location at Casuarina Beach surrounded by an abundance of natural beauty.

“Pama Casuarina has been meticulously devised to suit a wide range of buyers seeking a high-quality, well-designed apartment that offers a relaxed beachside, walk or ride to- wherever lifestyle,” said Esmonde.

“World-class surf breaks, picturesque walkways, and beloved local cafes and restaurants sit essentially at your doorstep at Pama Casuarina.”

With over 100 years of combined experience, DeMartini Fletcher and Holm Developments have separately completed a significant portfolio of premium residential developments located on prime sites between the Tweed and Sunshine coasts.

Completion is expected to commence in the first quarter of 2025.
