Point Piper is one of the most affluent suburbs in the whole of Australia.

Wolseley and Wunulla Road are home to some of the country's most expensive houses, with harbourfronts, either facing north to Manly, or down to the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge, selling for up to $100 million.

Rarely is there an opportunity to buy brand new, off the plan property in the suburb laden with apartment blocks from the 1970s, set on land more often than not unviable for developers to knockdown and rebuild.

But Fortis, alongside Dare Property Group, are set to finally bring something new for new high-end apartment seekers, on the 2,392 sqm Wunulla Road site which they joint acquired for around $40 million last year.

Dubbed Piper, at 2A Wunulla Road, there will be just 15 exclusive residences in the development, which will have interiors by MIM Design and sit in landscaping by Dangar Barin Smith.

There will be a mix of two, three and four-bedroom apartments across the boutique four-level building. Each apartment will feature soaring ceilings, open layouts and large living, entertaining, and outdoor areas. Some of the apartments will even have their own private pools.

The three two-bedroom plus study apartments start from 127 sqm of internal space, the three-bedroom apartments start from 161 sqm internal, and the biggest offering, the four-bedroom apartments, have an internal living space between 210 sqm and 260 sqm.

"We are looking forward to partnering with Danny Avidan and Dare Property Group on our new project in Point Piper, bringing a premium product to an exclusive harbourside location, Fortis Director Charles Mellick said.

"Piper will offer residents proximity to key retail and commercial precincts in the locality, alongside excellent amenities.

"With an expected end value of $150 million, we are confident that the proposed development will be well received by Point Piper locals and the wider community, unveiling a fresh approach to luxurious apartment living."

The high profile developer Danny Avidan, who heads up Dare Property, said the group is honoured to be joining forces with Fortis.

"Charles Mellick and I have been long time residents of Point Piper and we share a strong, emotional bond with its close-knit community.

"We feel privileged to have the opportunity to develop in Point Piper, and are excited to present Piper, which will bring to life our shared values and vision for this premium enclave."

Ben Stewart, who heads up CBRE's Premium Sales Division and is handling the sales for Piper, believes the owner-occupier, empty-nester and downsizer markets will get stronger, particularly in the tightly held waterfront Eastern Suburb locations.

"There is a flight to quality for buyers who are seeking prime positioned, well-designed homes in high-quality developments. There has been nothing of this scale built in Point Piper for many, many years."
