The federation residence at 167 Clarke Street, Northcote, (above) has sold for $4.3 million pre-auction, $760,000 above the previous record for the suburb.

It sold to a local upsizing young family.

The renovated home comes with sweeping city views and alfresco entertaining areas.

It was the Melbourne suburb's first house sale above $4 million.

There's another house on Rucker’s Hill at 215 Clarke Street seeking a similar price.

It is being sold conjunctionally by Jellis Craig Fitzroy and Brace Real Estate.
