The successful muso Nicolas "Pottsy" Potts has bought his first home in Sydney, although the Darlinghurst flat could simply be a bolthole on his visits back from New York.

Nicolas, best known for dating Jessica Hart, is half of the band, Tamarama named after the fond beach memories of his and his mate, Jay Lyon's childhood.

The Darlinghurst apartment had only been on the market for nine days before Potts snapped it up for $610,000 through BresicWhitney.

The one bedroom 41 sqm north east facing apartment last sold at $330,000 in 2001.

Upon completing his degree in 2003, Nicholas moved to London and worked at Mario Testino's photographic studio.

This took him to New York where he was offered a position as Greg Kadel's full time retoucher.

He stayed in New York and went on to open his own retouching business 'Can't Touch This Inc'.
