Newly built Sovereign Islands home with vertical garden facade home listed
A newly built Sovereign Islands home, complete with vertical garden on its facade, has been listed at $6.98 million.
From the street, half of the home is covered with vertical gardens with automatic irrigation.
The "green wall' was chosen to provide more interest with street elevations and provide a more approachable design.
The vacant 820 square metre waterfront block last traded for $1.38 million in late 2016 before the buyer, developer Roger Noble, engaged Zoran Architecture to build the opulent mansion, complete with interiors from Designer Details.
"A lot of thought went into the species of plant to use and we settled with rhipsalis from the succulent family as it best deals with the elements," Noble said.
It spans 1,085 square metres of living space across its three levels, serviced by an internal lift.
Built to face north over the water, the full concrete home on The Sovereign Mile comes with cinema room.
The designer kitchen, finished in gloss charcoal oak veneer, is accompanied by a full butlers kitchen.
There's six bedrooms in total, including an opulent master suite with his and hers bathrooms and walk in wardrobes, and a separate one bedroom apartment.
The basement level has parking for six cars and a grotto entertainment area with wellness centre featuring a top of the range Sawo Scandia sauna.
Ray White Sovereigh Islands agents Edin Kara and Ali Mian have the listing.
The street record was set in 2009 when the three-level mega-mansion Utopya, filled with waterfalls and glass walls, sold for $9 million.
The Michael Tomlinson-designed six bedroom, 10 bathroom waterfront with 15 seat cinema on-sold for $7.25 million in 2014.
