One of the only two penthouse residences in the York Apartment building in Newcastle East has been sold for $5.45 million. 

The three bedroom, three bathroom beachfront apartment is located at 1201/61 Shortland Esplanade.

It offers custom kitchen, living areas with access to beachfront deck, alfresco entertaining areas and garage parking for three vehicles. 

The home also features sleek storage throughout, wine fridge, double shower, and remote control blinds and curtains. 

It is situated within close proximity to the beach and cafes. 

Mark Kentwell and Jesse Wilton of PRDnationwide - Newcastle/Lake Macquarie sold the property. 

It was last sold in 2012 for $2.43 million.
