New housing development aims to cater to significant population growth anticipated for Geelong

While it’s common knowledge that Melbourne’s population is undergoing exponential growth that is likely to continue into the next decade, recent statistics reveal that the rising population and demand for housing in Greater Geelong is exceeding the population growth rate of Melbourne city. The Greater Geelong area will require an additional 2,900 new homes to be built, posing a unique opportunity for developers to enter a burgeoning market and accommodate this demand.

Jinding Australia, in partnership with Yolk Property Group, will see a brand new 94-hectare development take shape in Armstrong Creek by mid-2020. The new residential community will be only 10 kilometres from Geelong CBD and connects to the landmark Lake Connware Wetland, which boasts a thriving ecosystem of wildlife.

The project, coined Halcyon Armstrong Creek will provide brand new off-the-plan properties for approximately 1,800 residents, reaching a development completion value of over $178 million. Halcyon Armstrong Creek will also include 1.9 hectares of passive open space and parks, in addition to waterways, conservation areas and walking trails.

Armstrong Creek is already home to existing amenity and schools and is fast becoming a destination for families to settle. We have already had strong enquiry prior to the release of stage one lots. We are excited to be delivering our first project in regional Victoria as one that focuses on complementing the existing natural surrounds.”

Liz Ronson, Jinding Developments Managing Director

Halcyon Armstrong Creek is the latest addition to the Jinding Development pipeline, following existing sites in Junction Village, Sunbury and Wollert.
