A modernistic seven bedroom home on the Balmoral Slopes has been sold for $11.95 million at auction.

The Kirkoswald Avenue property of 2215 sqm was initially listed with $15 million plus hopes by the retired engineer Derry Hill.

The three-storey residence was built in the late 1960s by property developer Syd Fischer, who sold it to Hill and his late wife Dimity in 1985 for $1,375,000.

It is set on two titles of 2215 square metres.
