Mitch Watson's Daylesford straw house sold
Daylesford and Hepburn Mineral Water Co founder Mitch Watson has secured $1.4 million for his unusual Daylesford home.
Set at the foothills of Victoria’s spa precinct, it was designed by Joost Bakker with the sustainability guru’s trademark grassed rooftop.
The Green House occupies a three-hectare Daylesford site with the three-bedroom residence billed Australia’s first bushfire resistant straw house.
It also has sustainable solar power and hot water systems.
The kitchen overlooks its lounge and dining room, divided by a dual-opening Cheminees Philippe open fireplace.
The Green House was expected to sell for about $1.45 million through Jellis Craig agent Tom May.
