The former 1980s Paddington home of INXS frontman Michael Hutchence has been sold.

It had been listed by Belle agent Zach Carter for March 2 auction but sold ahead of auction.

It was unsuccessful when listed last year with $2 million hopes with another agent.

It was relisted with $1.7 million hopes.

It’s just the second time it has been up for grabs since Hutchence sold it in 1995, two years before his 1997 death.

Hutchence paid $105,500 in 1985.

The 1890s semi was sold by Hutchence for $285,500.

It sold for $475,000 in 2000, the last time it traded.

The quintessential cottage with fresh all-white interiors has two bedrooms on Wentworth Street.

Carter suggests its rental return was in the vicinity of $1,100 to $1,200 pw.

The council rates are $383pq and water rates are $285pq for the 141sqm block.
