Mehajer family Lidcombe development site sells
A Lidcombe development site owned by Aysha Mehajer, of the infamous Mehajer family, sold at weekend yesterday for $1.635 million.
The property, containing two duplex shells, was sold under instructions. The auction, which attracted almost a dozen buyer registrations, had been postponed a week after last minute legalities between the family and their financiers.
Totalling 10 bedrooms over four levels, complete with a rooftop terrace, the Mons Street site was transferred into Aysha’s name in 2014 by Mohammed, father of the jailed former Auburn deputy mayor Salim Mehajer (pictured).
It was last traded for $682,000 in 2011.
Aysha Mehajer has a longstanding caveat on the title, stating that she was entitled to the estate as the registered proprietor. There’s also a caveat from the excavation group.
While declining to comment, Devine Real Estate Strathfield agents Steven Devine and Daniel Maiese marketed the property as “must be sold”.
It was totally non-compliant, Devine advised, with orders to cease and a likely demolition of the two-level concrete shell that would cost $200,000.
Salim Mehajer’s former Lidcombe home, the opulent six bedroom mansion with 56 security cameras, is two minutes away.
