McMahons Point's Villa Medusa sold by vintner Graham Cranswick-Smith

A historic Victorian terrace overlooking Lavender Bay in McMahons Point has been sold for more than its $7.5 million price guidance. It is understood to have fetched $8 million.

Villa Medusa, the recently restored circa 1888 trophy home at 1 Waiwera Street snappily sold through Claudia Portale of McGrath Mosman.

The four-bedroom property was purchased in 2005 at $5.45 million and its renovation include a Versace fit out throughout.

The vendor, vintner Graham Cranswick-Smith, oversaw the merger between his export orientated winery and Margaret River producer Evans & Tate in 2002, creating Australia's eighth largest producer.

He is the boss at Cranswick Wines Australia, his Linkedin photo showing him at home on the balcony with its gun barrel Sydney Harbour Bridge views.
