McGrath chief auctioneer sells Burrawang cottage
McGgrath chief auctioneer Scott Kennedy-Green has sold his modernised 1905 weatherboard in the NSW Southern Highlands village of Burrawang.
He’s going to make Mudgee in the Central West his home base, on a 365ha rural property with a Santa Gertrudis breeding herd.
Kennedy-Green secured the sale of his designer three-bedroom, three-bathroom after 55 days on the market. There were no bids at its early August auction.
Its initial price guidance was $3.3m through McGrath Bowral agent Anne Stone, who adjusted expectations to $2.65m.
The property features gas and wood fireplaces and a large gas kitchen with Wolf appliances.
The polo playing Kennedy-Green, who has been with McGrath with 23 years, bought the 4100sqm home for $2.15m in 2016.
The prior owners were creative couple, Michael Lynch and Patsy Peacock.
Kennedy-Green (left) advised he will work from McGrath’s Mudgee office and get up to Sydney for his auctions on the weekend.
“With COVID-19 and the way we can do our business, the opportunity is to move back to Mudgee,” he said.
