Masterchef's Dani Venn can finally call Mount Eliza home
After a turbulent month, former Masterchef contestant Dani Venn and her husband Chris Burgess have now settled on and into their new Mornington Peninsula home.
The couple were all ready to settle on their $1,375,000 Mount Eliza acquisition before becoming the unwitting victim in a hacking scandal that engulfed Property Exchange Australia (PEXA), Australia's new online property transfer system.
The hacker of her conveyancer and estate agent email addresses then diverted the proceeds of the couple's home sale in Smiths Gully, some $250,000, into their account.
Venn said they were told a few minutes before their new property was due to be settled on that around $107,000 was missing and was unrecoverable.
After a much publicised battle and a failed GoFundMe Page, Venn and Burgess got their money back and have settled on the property.
"It was always our dream to live near the sea," Venn said.
Their three bedroom contemporary home has views across the tree tops to the waters of Port Phillip Bay.
Set on 1,046 square metre, the two storey home has a split level downstairs living zones, lower and upper level terraces and a multi-level alfresco decking, which leads to a sunken solar heated swimming pool amid private gardens.
Lupton Ferguson Real Estate agent Louise Lupton sold the property in 65 days after having a guide of $1.3 million to $1.4 million.
It last traded for $1,035,000 in 2015.
