The 2GB rugby league Continuous Call Team member Mark "Piggy" Riddell, surprised his radio colleagues with a mid-week social media posting suggesting he's off to the South Coast.

But he's not leaving the team, telling them he won't mind the estimated 90 minute trip from Shellharbour.

He currently lives with wife, Karli, at Silverdale, which is 70 kilometres west of the station's Pyrmont headquarters.

Riddell has told his collgeaues he doesn't get attached to homes, hence the pending listing of his recently completed Wollindilly-district home.

His boss Ray Hadley queried the decision of the Bankstown-born battler. Hadley briefly put his home at Dural on the market in 2015, but them decided to stay put at the home of 22years.

Riddell, the goal-kicking hooker retired in 2011 at the Sydney Roosters.

He played for Wigan in 2009 where he won the 2010 Super League Grand Final with them.

Shellharbor's median house price for a four bedroom home is $902,000, according to CoreLogic, with the one pinpointed as Riddell's acquisition listed at a tad higher.
