A luxury penthouse in Cronulla has sold off the plan for $7.5 million — a new apartment price record for the area.

The local buyer secured the penthouse in Ozone Residences.

The boutique development with views of the Pacific Ocean is being developed by LEDA Holdings and Rebel Property Group.

They commissioned Vic Lake Architects, the architectural firm that has designed numerous luxury residences along the Cronulla coastline.

Ozone's two penthouses are two levels with 227 square metres of floor space.

Selling agent Greg Gilbert of Greg Gilbert Projects said the complex was popular market for downsizers.
