Lotus House on Hamilton Island listed for first time since early '80s
Lotus House, at the northern end of Hamilton Island, has been listed for sale for the first time since it was built in the early 1980s.
In 1982, in the Keith Williams era, a local identity snapped up the chance to buy Lotus House.
"I had to buy it," the owner said.
"The privacy, views, tranquility and water access.
"There is nothing like it on the island. It really is the best location by far, and it has now been my home for over 14 years."
The home in 2,230 square metres of lush tropical gardens was designed by architect Chris Beckingham, who designed the luxury hotel Qualia which sits next door.
It was designed so the crystal blue water views were captured upon entry through the portico. It has views of Fitzalan Passage from almost every angle.
The entry level kitchen, living and dining area are flanked by full width bi-folds doors that open to the covered entertaining area and wet edge swimming pool.
Up the wide timber staircase are the four bedrooms, one master retreat with ensuite, walk in wardrobes and a balcony.
Queensland Sotheby's agent Wayne Singleton is marketing the property which is being offered fully furnished, and with two buggies a necessity on the carless island.
