This Auckland, New Zealand offering is a long bushland setting in the land of the long white cloud.

The Birkenhead Point property is marketed as a "rare and idyllic slice of paradise".

Some 12,329 square metres of native bush, 10 minutes by ferry or car to the Auckland CBD. Birkenhead is located on the north shore of the Waitemata Harbour.

Two properties each with one home make up the offering, one at 95C Hinemoa Street and an adjoining site at 11 Learmonth Avenue.

"Together they present an unprecedented prospect for development, or the canvas for a truly unique, park-like private dwelling," the Bayleys listing agent Malcolm Low said.

The tender closes July 17.

Lows suggests buyers will construct several high-end residences.

With jobs as well as amenities, the former Reserve Bank chairman and economist Arthur Grimes recently suggested Auckland increasingly drew people from within New Zealand, returning Kiwis and from Australia and elsewhere.

"Other cities were good-looking, but Auckland had jobs as well as amenities," he told the stuff website.
