Liberal politician Tim Wilson has leased his one bedroom apartment in the middle of South Yarra for $500 a week.

He's lived the South Yarra lifestyle for six years but he and partner Ryan Bolger have moved following Wilson gaining preselection for the Liberal seat of Goldstein.

The art deco apartment (above) in the Castle Towers building is located between Fawkner Park and the Royal Botanical Gardens.

Wilson paid $560,000 in 2010 for the apartment.

According to The Australian, they are off to Sandringham.

The couple paid $755,000 for the 1975 unit.

The two bedroom street front villa had a price guide of $780,000.

It sold through Chisholm&Gamon agents Sarah Eckert and Len Sharp.
