A Leura home in the Blue Mountains modelled on a classic weatherboard has been listed for sale.

The Mount Street property, privately positioned behind a tree-lined boundary, features three buildings, all linked by wide pathways that meander through the gardens along drystone walls.

The architect designed main residence is based on a weatherboard cottage with tin roof, but comes with modern features such as a sauna and outdoor spa.

Timber was used extensively in the construction of the four bedroom, four bathroom home.

The main bathroom features a two metre boulder that was dug from the property as the footings were being prepared.

Owner Greg Lucas designed the landscaped while living in the two room shack that occupied the 2.2 hectare parcel that features permanent traversing creek.

Lucas paid $410,000 in 2006.

Ray White Blackheath agent Peter Torok is marketing the home for an October 15 auction.
