The Mt Martha holiday home of the late sports broadcaster Drew Morphett has been sold.

It fetched $1,270,000 after being listed for sale last year with $1.3 million to $1.35 million price hopes.

The 715 square metre property, set 100 metres from Birdrock Beach, was listed by his widow, Kaz.

The three bedroom Morrisons Avenue home was set to become their permanent home before Drew's sudden death last year at age 69.

The Morphett's paid $475,000 for the property in 2005 and installed a pool over their ownership.

The commentator called a wide variety of sports including cricket, tennis, golf, basketball plus six Olympic Games over a career spanning five decades.

One Agency Peninsula had the listing for 125 days before its recent sale in early 2019.
