Lani Mauna, set high on Brookfield's rolling hills, Queensland, remains for sale after its weekend auction.

There was a $3.11 million top bid.

It was designed by the architect Tim Ditchfield, with strong references to modern tropical architecture.

The one hectare block cost $1.5 million in 2011 at Brookfield, just 15 kilometres from the city centre.

It is listed through Queensland Sotheby’s International agent Douglas Tonkin.

Ditchfield had also designed a similar house on the Sunshine Coast for the owners.

The name is Hawaiian for “mountain reaching heaven”.
