Julia Cooney, the youngest female sailor to win the Sydney to Hobart race, has bought two adjoining Darling Point apartments.
No doubt the $8.67 million purchase has been financed by her father, businessman and Comanche skipper Jim Cooney.
Both apartments have three bedrooms and marble bathrooms. The higher apartment spans two levels with views across the harbour.
The apartments were bought quietly off-market after being listed last year for $3.63 million and $5.13 million.
There's more than 700 sqm of living space on the Yarranabbe Road dress circle, a stroll to the nearby Cruising Yacht Club of Australia.
Comanche were second across the lane in last years race, but were promoted to first when Wild Oats XI was given a time penalty.
Jim, the boss of wind-farm builder and developer TCI Renewables, bought Comanche late last year.
