House rents up 0.7%, units greater: CoreLogic RP Data
House rents have increased 0.7% of the past year, with rental for units increasing 1.6% for the combined city capitals according to new figures from CoreLogic RP Data.
CoreLogic RP Data's July Rental Index also found rental rates for houses down 0.5% and units up 0.2% over the three month period ending July.
According to the report, the rental growth rate slowed due to new housing supply and 'historically high levels of housing investment'.
Property investors are warned growth in rent could possibly slow more in the next few months given the activity in residential construction and high investment demand.
