Rosemount House, the historic Norwood property in Adelaide, has been listed for sale.

The property, which is currently leased to the highly regarded Montessori Early Leaning Childcare, dates back to the 1850s when it was built for W.C. Buik, the mayor of Kensington and Norwood in the 1860s.

Buik was the director of the Adelaide & Suburban Tramway Company and a member of the Legislative Council.

The property was extensively remodelled in the 1940s in the Inter-War mediterranean-style for Dr Cooper.

The original bluestone mansion was reworked, extended and then entirely rendered.

It now spans 535 square metres and comprises 11 main rooms and a cellar on its 2,690 square metre corner parcel.

Bernard and Charles Booth at Bernard Booth Adelaide have a price guide of $4.75 million to $5 million for its November 21 auction.
