Hatmaker and artist Helen Kaminski, who lived in 35 or so houses over the 35 years, secured $880,000 for her Glebe abode in April 2011.

The three-level terrace, sitting high on Glebe's eastern hill with a north-easterly aspect, had been listed with a $925,000 asking price through Belle Annandale agent Mark Tooth.

It cost $565,000 in 2005. It has been bought by Ann Curthoys, the Australian Research Council professorial fellow at the University of Sydney's history department, and her partner, the academic John Docker, who has written on contemporary theories of culture, identity and diaspora.

Kaminski, whose hats have been the choice of Elle Macpherson, Nicole Kidman, Andie McDowell and Hillary Clinton, spends much of her time now at a cottage on the Hawkesbury River.
