Harry Vanda buys in Double Bay
Having sold on the Rose Bay harbourfront, the songwriting guitarist Harry Vanda and his wife Robyn have turned up in Double Bay for the village lifestyle.
Paying $7.05 million for historic Teralla, a grand Victorian home whose past owners have included merchant banker Mark McIvor and Professor Ron Penny.
The Vanda's had been on the Rose Bay property since paying $667,500 in 1983, then commissioning the five-bedroom home design.
Alison Coopes had the listing which sold to Breakfast Point developer Stuart Rose for around $15 million.
His co-written Easybeats song, Friday on My Mind was voted the best Australian song of all time at the 2001 Australasian Performing Rights Association awards.
