The Burleigh Heads home of legendary former Australian Open golf champion Rodger Davis is under contract.

The sale has been nearly a decade in the making for Davis, who initially listed the Skyline Terrace home in 2008, just two years after paying $2.25 million.

On and off the market since then, the home has eventually sold through Black Label Proeprty Broadbeach agent Andrew Ramsey who was asking offers over $2.1 million.

Upon its 2015 listing it was asking $1.99 million.

Set on 1,144 square metres with views to Surfers Paradise, the four bedroom Mediterranean-inspired home has a gourmet kitchen, wine cellar and pool.

Davis had a long career in professional golf and featured at The Masters, U.S Open and The British Open Championship, where he finished runner-up in 1987.

The former world top-10 golfer is still playing having taken out the Australian Senior PGA two years ago.
