The gardening guru television host Brendan Moar sold his home in Camperdown went to auction.

It was offered on the opening weekend of winter.

There were two registered bidders, but only one lodged a bid, opening at $2.2 million, then at $2.5 million which had been the pre-auction price guidance.

There was a rebuffed endeavour to secure offers higher than a $2.6 million vendor bid.

The home was marketed by the BresicWhitney Glebe agents Chris Nunn and Nick Playfair who described the home as a one-off poolside entertainer.

Spanning three levels, the four bedroom home is an eclectic mix of tastes.

Moar paid $1,265,000 in 2009 for the home that came with a guide of $2.5 million yesterday.

The garden recently featured on Channel 10's The Living Room.

Moar, who has been busy working on property projects on the South Coast, has twice been voted favourite male subscription television presenter at the ASTRA Awards.
