Former TV presenter Tom Williams turns to real estate
Tom Williams has left Channel 7 where he was the co-host of The Daily Edition and joined project marketing company Boutique Estates International.
His first job for Boutique Estates, where his sister in law Vanessa Gilbert is a director, is to help market Inspire Broadwater, the new Labrador tower on the Gold Coast (above and below).
The 12 level, 79 apartment building which is slated for completed in mid-2020, is set to replace landmark restaurant Cav’s Steakhouse along with a retail and commercial area.
Williams said 34 apartments had sold or were on hold to prospective buyers.
“We’ve been called in to reach deeper into the Gold Coast market and also to try to get some of that Sydney market that is looking to invest on the Gold Coast,” Williams told the Gold Coast Bulletin.
“I try to come up once a fortnight to meet with the sales team here in the display suite.
“We’re really reaching out this holiday season — we know things get very quiet in the major cities but the team will be right behind holiday makers on the Coast.”
Williams was a long-time presenter for the Seven Sport team, having made his break in media when he phoned into a radio show hosted by comic duo Merrick & Rosso in 2000.
They gave him a regular segment on the show. A year later he became the host of The Great Outdoors.
He lives in Sydney with his wife, fashion designer Rachel Gilbert, and their two young daughters.
