The former Kensingston home of the popular chef and owner of Melbourne’s iconic Vue De Monde restaurant Shannon Bennett and his wife, Madeleine West, has been re-sold.

It's a chef’s dream within the Nicholas Murray-designed residence.

The 5 Bruce Street, Kensington property was for private sale with an asking price of $2,325,000.

A young professional couple from Port Melbourne snapped up the five-bedroom Victorian for $2,265,000 earlier this month, the Herald Sun reported.

Decked out in the best appliances on offer, the home also includes is a barbecue kitchen with a pizza oven.

The property boasts Jack Merlo-designed gardens, a Japanese pond and a self-cleaning lap pool.

The Kensington property last listed with price hopes of $1.5 million to $1.65 million fetched $1.65 million in early 2013.

Located on Bruce Street, Kensington, the four-bedroom home has a Joost Bakker herb wall plus a vegetable garden on the roof of the double garage.

It had been sold to Bennett for $820,000 in 2004.
