Former Hawthorn and Richmond ruckman Greg Dear and wife Tracey are selling Golden Point, their Kalimna home on the Gippsland Lakes.

They relocated from Melbourne to the estate in 2000 where architect James Ridgway designed the home, with full length windows to take advantage of the Lakes aspects.

The contemporary home comprises four bedrooms, a home office and a large games room and entertaining area.

The main bedroom looks out to the water, a highlight of the property for Greg.

“After opening the blinds in the morning I can determine whether I want to drive to work or take the boat into Lakes from our own jetty," Greg said.

It offers 1.75 kilometres of direct frontage to the North Arm of the Gippsland Lakes, the section known by the locals as Big Ears Bay.

There's a 'blokes shed' for Greg that offers storage for mowers, a small tractor or a workshop space.

Greg was a part of Hawthorn's VFL Premiership winning teams in 1986, 1988 and 1989.

He now runs Greg Dear Accounting firm from his office in central Lakes Entrance.

Pat Rice & Hawkins agent Peter Balharrie seeking offers in excess of $1.7 million until May 25.
