Former AFL Melbourne captain David Neitz has sold his Fitzroy investment property ahead of this weekend's scheduled auction through Nelson Alexander Real Estate.

It is three levels with four bedrooms at 61 Leicester Street.

He paid $650,000 in 2001 and listed it with $1.05 million plus hopes.

It was set for 14 March auction.

It was available for rent at $850 a week in early 2013.

David Neitz, who retired after 306 games in 2008, was appointed late last year as a specialist key-position coach at the Hawks.
