The former Bank of Melbourne chief executive, David Airey has listed his South Yarra home.

Airey, who now works as a consultant, and his wife Sally have Jeremy Fox of RT Edgar scheduled to auction the property on 9 August with $3 million plus hopes.

The property at 47 Kensington Road near Como Park was bought for $1.83 million in 2011.

They extensively renovated the 710 square metre holding but now are downsizing.

The four bedroom home has a self-contained apartment.
