The recently departed NSW arts minister Don Harwin - who plans to see out his parliamentary days based at his Pearl Beach retreat - has sold his redundant Elizabeth Bay apartment.

It fetched $1,235,000 to the only bidder, who raised his initial $1.2 million offer.

It was put up for sale with the prospect of pocketing $1.2 million.

The apartment’s marketing by LJ Hooker agent David Malouf highlighted it having “views across the sparkling waters of Rushcutters Bay, the marina, park and the harbour foreshore offering an outstanding lifestyle opportunity in a highly sought-after address.”

Harwin noted he had medical ailments that he felt were best recovered on the coast.

The former NSW’s Minister for the Arts will be at home at Pearl Beach.
