Interior design expert Greg Natale, recently awarded Belle Designer of the Year for 2014, has listed his Darlinghurst investment apartment.

Set in the Republic complex, it is an executive style one bedroom apartment up for November 3 auction.

The spacious apartment with soaring ceilings and mezzanine level features a Murano Chandelier along with super sleek Basaltini flooring and high gloss joinery perfection.

All very expansive and extravagant from the founder of Greg Natale Design.

The 60 square metre plus apartment is being marketed by Monique Eyles at ke3property.com.au as an opportunity for the smartest of investors to "not only take advantage of Natale's interior design masterdom" but also to enjoy the superior rental yields.

The gross return has been 6.5% per annum over the last couple of years, managed as part of the agencies' suite of executive letting properties in its Your Home Away From Home division.

She estimates the yield is 1.8% above traditional long term.

His recent honour was the Belle and Coco Republic Interior Designer of the year for 2014. Now in their fourth year, the judging panel included Coco Republic executive director Anthony Spon-Smith, the then Belle Editor-in-chief Neale Whitaker and interior designer and blogger Dana Tomic-Hughes. The awards’ international judge is celebrated New York-based designer and retailer Jonathan Adler.

The finalists were Andrew Parr and Jonathan Richards at SJB Interiors, Sarah Davison Interior Design, Arent & Pyke and Pascale Gomes-McNabb.

The apartment at 8/281-283 Bourke Street, Darlinghurst is in the Republic 1 building designed by Burley Katon Halliday.

Natale bought it off the plan in 1998 for $340,000 settling on its completion in 2000 by Trafalgar Properties.

Burley Katon Halliday won the commission after Trafalgar's chairman, Robert Whyte, saw its Spring, Potts Point, cafe interiors.

The 6,000-square-metre project transformed the mostly vacant site surrounded by Bourke, Burton, Liverpool and Palmer streets.

The residential development replaced the old Sargents Pie Factory.
