David Banks buys Wichita at Warrawee
The former Star City chief executive David Banks and his wife, Jackie, have settled on Wichita, the Warrawee trophy home.
Banks, who sits on the board of Aristocrat, paid $5.25 million for the historic residence that was built in 1928.
It was owned by author Penelope Janu, wife of WorleyParsons’ general counsel Peter Janu.
Designed by renowned architect Emil Sodersten, the Tudor-style home featured in The Australian Home Beautiful magazine in 1930.
It sits in Peter Fudge designed gardens and has five bedrooms, four bathrooms and an infinity edge pool.
Chadwick Real Estate agent Lynette Malcolm sold the home.
Banks was previously based in the James Orwin, Georgian-style designed Pymble home Ballinlough, which he sold to former chief justice of the High Court Murray Gleeson and his wife Robyn.
Gleeson sold Sandon, his home on the same road, just before the purchase.
