The former advertising chief and healthcare marketing executive David McLean and his wife Rachel have downsized to Neutral Bay.

They were the $6.8 million buyers of a Neutral Bay penthouse in the waterfront Craignathan complex.

They bettered the building record of $5,085,000 set in 2014 when the apartment was bought by Cynthia Chakoush, chief of Blue Collar Recruitment.

It sold off-market through Ray White Lower North Shore’s Dino Gatti.

The McLeans sold their Mosman residence for $9.2 million to US businessman David Bondi and his expat wife, Rachel earlier this year.

The median price of a home in Neutral Bay is $2,448,888 according to CoreLogic.

The original 1830's Craignathan manor was later replaced by an exclusive boutique block of six executive apartments. The site on Hayes Street was home to Benjamin Boyd.
