Creek Cottage, the home of the late noted author and conservationist Vincent Serventy and his wife Carol, has been listed for sale.

Serventy, who 30 years ago helped save the Great Barrier Reef from oil leases, and his wife Carol bought the Pearl Beach weekender in 1976 for $22,000, moving there permanently in the 1990s.

It returned to the market initially with more than $1.5 million being sought through Stuart Gan, but now the price guidance is $1.35 million to $1.45 million.

Situated at 36 Diamond Road, Pearl Beach the four bedroom two bathroom beach home is 100 paces from the beach.

Set on 670 square metres, the home features timber floors, high ceilings, large verandahs and guest accomodation.

With a fireplace and a carport the home is described as a "unique once in a generation opportunity".
