Melbourne-based comedian Libby Gorr and her TV producer partner Stewart Burchmore have bought back in to the Sydney market, after having scored a windfall result for their former North Bondi home earlier in the year.

The couple have scored a $1.58 million Surry Hills terrace.

BresicWhitney agent Charles Touma had listed the home at $1.65 million.

In May they sold their North Bondi property for $3.23 million, which had been an investment since they moved to Melbourne in 2013.

They bought the three level Goodlet Street home which came with a $1,000 a week rental guidance.

Set on a tight 73 sqm, the home has three bedrooms, one bathroom and a private deck with paved courtyard off the living space. The master bedroom in the attic has district views.

The sale came with approval for alterations and additions to the two storey dwelling, including a ground floor rear extension and a new first floor rear addition.

Its estimated work cost is around $150,000.

Their former North Bondi home that fetched $3.23 million was more than double what they paid back in 2007.

They secured the three bedroom home in 2007 for $1,605,000. It had been a nice $1,350 a week rental since their move to Melbourne four years ago.

Phillips Pantzer Donnelley agent Jason Pantzer had an initial guide of $2.7 million and had four bidders all above the signalled $2.9 million reserve on auction day.

Gorr, growing up in Murrumbeena, got her big break with Andrew Denton's ABC sports comedy program Live and Sweaty, where her satirical character Elle McFeast emerged in 1991.
