Former AFL star Chris Tarrant and wife Lauren have quietly sold their newish Toorak home for $7.86 million.

Set on 640 sqm it was sold off market to Joseph Sgroi, the celebrity obstetrician whose most recent baby delivery was Noah Montagna, the first baby of Erinn and Leigh Montagna.

The property last sold at $5.3 million when offloaded by Jennifer Keyte in 2014 when marketed as an early 1990s Wayne Gillespie-designed home built on the perimeter of Miegunyah, the Grimwade estate.

Tarrant, who played for the Collingwood Football Club, and then at Fremantle, hived off the corner portion to maximise the site's potential.
