A Chinese family has spent $18.7 million for the heritage offices, the Victor Horsley Chambers at 10-12 Collins Street on a yield of just 2.4 percent.
The 1924, the four-storey, Georgian revival-style office building has been held by the same Melbourne family for more than 40 years.
It last traded for $900,000 in 1971.
Victor Horsley Chambers, with almost 2000 sqm of net lettable area, attracted 16 parties to its boardroom auction.
The neighbouring building at 14-16 Collins Street fetched $12 million last September when sold to Gary Singer of the art auction house, Sotheby's Australia.
