Actor and tiger blood connoisseur Charlie Sheen has sold his LA house to Big Bang Theory star Simon Helberg and Helberg's partner, Jocelyn Towne, for US$2.9 million.

Sheen listed the  388-square-metre house for US$3,697,000 in 2009 but was unable to sell it. He continued to drop the asking price throughout 2010, according to the RealEstalker blog, and Helberg and Towne purchased it in late October of this year. Property records show that Sheen paid US$2,575,000 for the property in 2007.

The 1927 home includes four bedrooms and five bathrooms, plus a sizeable back yard with de rigeur pool and waterfall. It is not the home where Sheen recenlty holed up with his "goddesses", as Sheen has not lived in the property for some time.

Sotheby's International Realty listed the property.

Sheen appeared in multiple blockbuster movies throughout the 1980s and 1990s, such as Platoon, Wall Street, Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Young Guns before landing starring roles on sitcoms Spin City and Two and a Half Men. Sheen was fired from the latter for his increasingly bizarre antics earlier this year.

Helberg stars in the CBS comedy The Big Bang Theory
