BT Financial executive buys converted Darlinghurst warehouse

Andrew Walker, the chief operating Officer at BT Financial Group, and his wife Jennifer have emerged as the $10 million plus buyers of a Darlinghurst warehouse.

Luxuriously appointed, under soaring four metre high ceilings, the property has 400 square metres plus of living space set privately on an elevated 592 square metre block.

Reworked in 2010 by Alex Smith of CSA Architects, the home with rooftop garden was snapped up three weeks into its marketing.

Built in 1882, the grand family home of the McGrath family has been featured in the pages of Belle and Mansion Australia magazines, and on Yellowtrace design blog.

The home has five bedrooms plus a study with interiors by Arent & Pyke, the duo Juliette Arent and Sarah-Jane Pyke.

The home which was a former boarding house comes with 14 metre street frontage.

It was sold through BradfieldCleary agent Georgia Cleary.

Walker, who was previously Westpac's senior head of strategy and M&A, has sold his Paddington terrace which was listed with $6.5 million hopes through Ben Collier at The Agency.

It had been renovated after paying $3.2 million in 2014. 

The comedian Vince Sorrenti sold it for $2.3 million 11 years prior for the terrace near Paddington Five Ways.
